Recently, PetroChina, one of China's three major state-owned oil companies, announced that it will invest 31.9 billion yuan in ecological environmental protection within two years. The China Economic Times reporter learned from the China Petroleum "2018 Environmental Protection Bulletin" conference that these funds will focus on the deployment of the "Top Ten" pollution prevention and control project.

The oil and gas industry has always been a key area of concern for China's environmental protection policy, and companies in it have received considerable attention. It is understood that PetroChina has proactively issued the "Environmental Protection Bulletin" for 20 consecutive years, and according to the data disclosed in the 2018 Environmental Protection Bulletin, the chemical oxygen demand emissions of PetroChina in 2018 decreased by 7.9% year-on-year, ammonia nitrogen emissions. The volume decreased by 7.0% year-on-year, sulfur dioxide emissions decreased by 7.6%, and nitrogen oxide emissions decreased by 7.2%.

In addition, while increasing energy conservation and emission reduction efforts, China Petroleum's clean energy supply capacity has also increased. In 2018, China's oil and gas production reached 138.02 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%. The introduction of overseas pipeline natural gas and LNG supplied natural gas to the society of 174.22 billion cubic meters, an increase of 13.6%. As of May 30, 2019, PetroChina China National Petroleum Pipeline Co., Ltd. has imported more than 290 billion cubic meters of natural gas. In the future, PetroChina will continue to increase the supply of natural gas and clean energy, and comprehensively enhance the professionalization of environmental protection management.
